It is believed that energy flows in our body, and if this energy is disrupted somehow it will directly affect our health and cause complications. These energy disruptors could be negative emotions, unpleasant past and traumatic experiences. EFT is a method to regain the flow of energy and free you of any negative emotions.

EFT is becoming widely popular as a healing resource because of its effectiveness and immediate results. You can see it being practiced in hospitals, psychotherapy clinics, business coaching and more. What is EFT? EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique which is created by Gary Craig in the mid 1990’s.

EFT is based on TFT which means Thought Field Therapy. Both have their roots in Energy Psychology, which some considers to be an alternative medicine. Gary Craig is a former student of Dr. Callahan, who created TFT. Gary studied the highest level of TFT and after a while developed EFT.

EFT and TFT are mostly the same and so are its effects. EFT is however much easier and less complicated compared to TFT. Their significant difference would be in the procedure. TFT have a lot of sequence specific to each emotional concern, while EFT has only one sequence for all possible emotional concerns.

EFT is like simplified psychotherapy and it’s done similar to acupuncture without the use of needles. It is primarily used for reducing traumatic emotions and later used for personal development. EFT’s fundamental theory is that by stimulating (through the tapping of fingers) the meridian points known commonly as the acupuncture points in your body, you can erase or lessen the feeling of an undesirable emotion. These emotions could be anything like pain, anger, lack of confidence or any issue. Others also use EFT to achieve things like weight loss, but perhaps the most stunning result would be overcoming physical limitations. In addition to tapping your fingers in certain spots there is also a vocal affirmation in the process. Although considered by many as miraculous breakthroughs, it is not a 100% guarantee that you will experience the same effects. Like any other self-help methods you have to consistently practice and the effects maybe early or late.

Our body is a network of electrical pulses which is ultimately linked to our nervous system. By tapping the meridian points in our body it helps balance the autonomic nervous system which functions below human awareness. If it is unbalanced it will create a lot of health problems.

Scientific study shows that the cortisol level, a hormone released when under stress, is substantially reduced during an EFT session. A few benefits of EFT are better sleep, cravings control, energy and productivity increase, improved self-image, clear thinking, relaxation and stress relief.

There are a large number of people who can attest the effectiveness of EFT. Even academics such as doctors and scientists have experienced and truly believe that EFT works. Although sometimes attributed as a pseudoscience, those who have practiced this are experiencing life changing results.
